These are great points. While “service” is among the oldest and most noble industries, Apps that value proximity and availability over quality/talent are liable to commoditize and marginalize human potential because they don’t value skills and relationships between Service Providers and their customers. But I do believe future generations of these applications will cater to more established Service Providers (think doctors, and anyone else whose skilled services you’d want employ more easily). One thing that has never changed is a Service Provider’s desire to offer a better experience for their Clients. Technology will do this.
