Looks like by all reports, Amazon Prime Day beat shopping numbers for their 2016 Black Friday and Cyber Monday — COMBINED. As in both mega shopping and consumer marketing days added together.

This then begs the question: What the fuck were you doing last week?

Yeah yeah yeah, it was a global event whereas the day after Thanksgiving and Monday post-holiday shopping is only an American custom. That moves me about an inch or two.

Kudos to the gaming consoles like Playstation and Nintendo. You crushed it and I’m not surprised, you’ve been at this for a while. Shout out to Game of Thrones Season 1–6 on Blu-Ray, you also raked it in (I’m sorry. Wait. What? Blu-Ray?).

So while those guys chest bump and touchdown dance on our Rosé-soaked asses this summer, it’s time to dust off and focus.

I was in Dick’s Sporting Goods today and yep, back packs, soccer shoes and other fall, back-to-school stuff were rocking the shelves. Are you thinking about how to dominate this fall’s selling season? Do you need promotional and consumer engagement ideas to break thru? Or are you gonna let REI laugh at you again on Black Friday?

I see so much opportunity RIGHT now. Just need to focus and be confident to execute. While it may be summer, Amazon just showed us what some mid-July hustle can do — for the 3rd year in a row.

*** Drinking some Stella Artois. It’s been my go to Sunday night summer beer for the last couple of years. I know it’s supposed to be served in a 12 ounce chalice but sometimes I like the larger, 14 oz. Pilsner glass. Stella Artois is always Primed and ready to satisfy. See how I did that just now?
