Paul, you make a good point which is how Zootopia manages to get across a ‘message’ without being heavy handed about it. Samuel Goldwyn once told his studio writers, “If you want to send a message, use Western Union.” Some truth to that because the message can get in the way of the story. Not Zootopia, I think in large part due to the message deriving from the central conceit: A story about predators and preys finding common ground. The message is implicit in the story’s foundation.
Will definitely watch the movie, now that I’ve read the script. Your enthusiasm for it certainly helps scoot it up toward the top of my list.
