Finally had some time to read that article.
I’ve been freelancing full time since 2008 — I started on Elance which was the only platform I worked off of. I love Elance, for one their rating system was easy to understand, freelancers did not get dinged just because a client did not leave feedback (even after doing a great job). I believe that not everyone is into leaving feedback, I not.
UpWork is still going well, but even though my client’s give me 4.8–5.0 ratings, my success score goes from 94% — 90 and it went to 89 once.
I pay the $10 a month fee, which in bad, but the 20% cut they take from projects is uncalled for. Once you reach $500 with a client it lowers to 10%. I do have a good ongoing client base. And through LinkenIn, but not going to pay them $59.99 a month just to send a email to someone who has reached out to me from Lindedin Profinder. Hint: It is easy to search for someone without paying fee.
I like Localsolo, how it currently is, simple. I don’t like it when you have to go outside to apply for a project. Would be nice to keep everything inside the platform.
I would a monthly fee of $10 like UpWork, it that would help get more projects through LocalSolo. I think I may have had 2 or 3. I see a lot of projects through it, but seems like client’s don’t reply back.
I will keep watching Locaksolo for projects.
Thanks
Scott
