Jason, the lastest issue of Well Being Journal (September/October 2017) has an article by John Poothullil, MD, about the insulin resistance theory and why it is wrong. It reveals that fat storage (triglycerides) in cells over time (from too much glucose in the blood chronically) saturates the cells to the point where they cannot intake glucose anymore, no matter how much insulin in the blood/body, and so the glucose stays in the blood at high levels when someone intakes sugary carbohydrates.
