This reason drives me insane! Somehow this reason (besides the other two that I hear as well) is one that just makes no logical sense to me. Any rational person who looks at anything going on in our culture, pick anything, can see hypocritical behavoir. The assumption made that culturally no body cares if non-church people are hypocrites but church-going people aren’t supposed to be shows a misunderstanding of scripture as a whole. But no matter how far I take this arguement it makes no sense.

This “reason” is probably masking many underlying issues the individual has with the church. I think a better title for your article may have been “three excuses people give for leaving the church,” because that’s what they are, but this one is the most ridiculous (to me). Every time I hear someone give this reason I always ask them to please give me the name of the church they find that doesn’t have sinners.
