None of the polls matter — the only thing that matters is your vote

Biden is leading by 7 points. By 9 points. By 12. Trump’s approval rating is down to 39%. Biden is poised to win in a landslide.

So what. So what. So what. So what. So you say.

As a country, we aren’t good at many things. We’ve completely botched the Coronavirus pandemic. But as a country, there’s one area in which we excel and that’s complacency. And when it comes to presidential polls, we are at our very best.

Right up to the end in 2016, Hillary Clinton led the polls and was destined to win. People who spoke about former casino owner Donald Trump being named leader of the free world were laughingstocks. More ridiculous thoughts were never had. The polls were clear. So clear that if people didn’t vote he still wasn’t winning.

Fast forward four years and our country has taken so many steps backward our Fitbits are registering negative numbers.

We went from 2020 to the 1960s to the 1910s to the 1860s to the 1930s. Doc Brown has no clue how to get us home because the timeline was skewed in such a way that the paradox that destroys the fabric of the entire universe is actually better than where we are now.

But if Doc was tasked with resetting the world, I think he’d start by going back to 2015/2016 and telling these pollsters to shut the f up. With all their algorithms, they couldn’t accurately predict where we are. Right after it happened, we were like “well, so much for…
