How to Link to Specific Times in a Video: YouTube, Vimeo, and Wistia

2 min readOct 7, 2015

YouTube is really easy. Just pause the video where you want to the link to target, click Share, select “Start at:”, and then copy the URL with the appended timecode from the box.

YouTube is easy.

Vimeo is easy, but a little less obvious. First, pause the video where you want the link to target, click the share icon (the paper airplane), select the URL and you’ll see the option to “Start video at” appear below. Select it and copy the new URL with the appended timecode.

Vimeo is easy, too.

Wistia is tricky. First, pause the video where you want the link to target, then hover over Video Actions and select Embed & Share. Next, check the box next to “Link to a specific time” and then copy the URL with appended timecode.

Wistia is tricky.
