Thanks for a great article.

I believe that along the lines of an “immune system against arrogance” — that employees’ perceptions are highly tuned, and that their tolerance for hypocrisy is extremely low.

It only takes one or a few examples of rewarded or even tolerated culturally antithetical behavior to undermine trust in stated values. That trust is extremely fragile, as it should be.

It also only takes one or a few public examples of tolerated culturally antithetical behavior for a company’s external constituents (customers, prospects, community, shareholders, regulators, communities…) to lose faith in an entire organization (see: Uber and Zenefits).

For want of a nail…
