Sunday Fun day at the Detroit Tigers Game

Today I attended the Detroit Tigers vs the Houston Astros at Comerica Park in Detroit Michigan. These tickets were giving to me from my work. I went to the game with my friend. The match up was a rematch of starting pitchers from my trip to Houston earlier this season of Mike Pelfrey vs Dallas Keuchel. Both of these pitchers are having a rough season with ERAs of over 4.5. The game time temp was a sunny 81 degrees. Our original seats were in section 333. After the third inning we switched seats to section 102 due to the sun beaming down on us.

The crowd was lite for a Sunday match-up between two teams chasing the playoffs. The game was a one-sided battle with the Tigers crushing the Astros 11 to 0. The Tigers jumped to a 6–0 lead in the first inning with a grand slam from James McCann. Miguel Cabrera would chip in 2 home runs and Justin Upton would cap off the scoring for the game with a homer in the seventh.

This game finished a meaningful three game sweep by the Tigers who are making a playoff push. Tomorrow is the trade deadline. I will be interesting to see what move the Tigers will make. I have read they are looking to trade for a third of fourth starting pitcher.

A side note about the game. The number of “older” dads wearing white New Balances and cargo shorts was over 20 today. I hope will when I am an old dad I am not out of touch when it comes to fashion.
