Gary Vaynerchuk Called Me at 1am to Sing Me a Lullaby!

The terms ‘expert’ and ‘guru’ are banded about a lot in the social media space. In my experience the engagement levels of most of these experts on-line is terrible.
However, last night I had a very re-confirming experience with a genuine social media expert. I have read Gary Vaynerchuk’s books and I have always loved his passion, this guy lives and breathes the stuff and has the success to show for it.
I was sitting awake at 1am this morning unable to get to sleep (which is great daddy practice for when Torrance Jr. comes along in a months time). I was playing away on twitter when I saw this tweet from Mr Vaynerchuck so I responded with my tongue firmly placed in my cheek:

I have to say that I wasn’t expecting any response but lo and behold:

I continued to play along and I have to say I was very shocked to see a New Jersey number on my phone 1:21am to hear Gary’s dulcet tones serenade me with a lullaby…I couldn’t stop laughing…and then I drifted off into a nice peaceful sleep :)

This my friends is real social media engagement! I knew there was a reason I was awake at 1:30am last night.

Imagine I had asked for something a bit more valuable :)
