Really nicely framed and an excellent overview. Thanks for sharing that and I wish I had written that article! We also have to roll forward knowing that people WANT to learn if we provide that supportive environment, and that people WANT to innovate and create if it makes their jobs more efficient and interesting. Tom Gilbert talked about “Learned Laziness” where people are motivated to simply make their work better to improve productivity or quality.
Why do we seem to make learning so difficult in so many workplaces? “The round wheels are already in the wagon - Don’t just DO Something, Stand There. And remember that Nobody ever washes a rental car.”
