My concern was regarding the statement “…Even among liberals…”. There is no basis that that particular group harbors the opinions the author noted. What I’m calling out has more to do with generalizations about groups of people, especially when the group of people are not well-defined. For example, what is a “liberal" according to the author’s definition?

It would be unconscionable for me to negate the well-documented experiences of U.S. immigrants in any time period. But we must exercise caution when using divisive language to generalize a target group of people.
