An ode to the “uncool”
In looking at my iTunes chart this morning Cody’s record is still #1 on the iTunes Country chart (#3 all categories). With continued hard work, hopefully it’ll stay there.
I’m now working for people who’ve built their business’s with Nashville being on the periphery. I think that is the reason I’m loving this “new world” of mine. I love Nashville but the Nashville music business model is not the best of environments for a new artist who don’t sing what’s “cool”… for the moment. The thing is, “moments” are a moving target…thank God. If you keep pluggin away at being uncool..sometimes….just sometimes (if you’re doing it right) there are going to end up being enough “uncool” people to become “cool” people. Weird, ain’t it? Basically, uncool people are weird, weird until there’s enough weird people to become un-weird.
So long live uncool music!…and hang on to your (ballcap or Cowboy) hats! Happy Sunday morning good people, S
