26 Characters

Typography Exhibition

Over the semester, they meticulously crafted their typefaces, including all twenty-six characters along with a minimum of four punctuation marks plus an ampersand. Once these were finalized, they designed posters featuring their typefaces and compiled them into books detailing their creative process and showcasing the work. As their final assignment, the entire Sophomore cohort collaborated to curate an exhibit that would display their typography posters and books — all within a week’s time. This endeavor included establishing a brand identity for the exhibition, producing promotional materials such as t-shirts, stickers, and buttons, and arranging the installation of the posters in the exhibition space. To tackle these tasks efficiently, they were divided into three teams: branding, production, and installation. After an intense week of work, the cohort unveiled their exhibition titled “26 Characters: An Exploration of Bespoke Type.”
