Get-To-Know-You Drinking Game
For a long time now, I’ve been playing around with an idea for a game that helps two people get to know each other. It wasn’t until I thought about adding alcohol that it really seemed like it would work well. Go figure.
The idea is quite simple. All you need is two people, one bottle of your favourite spirit, and one shot glass.
Person A takes a shot and asks a question. Person B either answers it, or they take a shot and are asked another question. If Person B answers the question then Person A has to answer it as well, or a similar question, if it doesn’t apply to them. If you’re planning on asking a question that you don’t want to answer, you’d better be really sure the person you’re playing with won’t answer it either, or things are going to get very interesting.
Once both people have answered the question, the roles switch. Continue like this until you run out of questions, or you run out of alcohol.
The best thing about this game? By taking a shot before asking a question, you’ll eventually start asking the questions that you really want to ask. And, by taking a shot when you don’t answer a question, you’ll eventually start to answer more questions. It’s the perfect system!
Of course, a game like this is built on trust and respect. There are almost always going to be topics that a person doesn’t feel comfortable talking about, so make sure to set the boundaries before the games begin, and remember where they are when you’re asking questions.
I haven’t tried this out yet, it’ll be interesting to see if it works in practice. If anybody decides to play this drinking game, let me know how it goes.
