I am now clear. I support Hillary
Last night I listened to the Democratic debate. While it was on MSNBC, ABC was showing the last segment of the Bernie Madoff story. At one point Bernie Sanders, shaking his finger, declared Wall St. is a complete fraud. I want Sen. Sanders to know that Wall St. is not a complete fraud. Madoff Securities was a complete fraud. But most of the men and women who work on Wall St. (including me) are hard working honest people. It is scary to hear someone who wants to be POTUS declare that a whole segment of the population and economy is a fraud.
There are many Democrats running around saying that Sen. Sanders is not a “Socialist”. Here is the definition of Socialist from Merriam-Webster:
Full Definition of socialism
1: any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods
2a : a system of society or group living in which there is no private propertyb : a system or condition of society in which the means of production are owned and controlled by the state
3: a stage of society in Marxist theory transitional between capitalism and communism and distinguished by unequal distribution of goods and pay according to work done
Well I think Sen. Sanders is close to the second definition. For that reason alone he is not going to get my vote.
I wish Sen. Sanders would focus more on the real issues that divide us. What does he have to say about racism? I want him to talk about police violence. I want him talk about why women still do not get equal pay for equal work. I want to here about comprehensive immigration reform.
Those are all issues that need solid, practical, progressive attention.
