Dr. Linda Bacon, among other HAES experts, has cited studies which point out that short-term weight loss is easy for most of us. Five years down the road, though? It’s likely most of us will gain most of the weight back, even if we maintain our improved habits.
I’ll be curious to see where you are in five years. The thing is: if the changes are positive for you now, they should be positive for you then, even if your weight loss reverses or plateaus before you’ve reached some numerical “ideal.”
