It seems that this concept closely relates to one of a product managers main responsibilities which is knowing the problems that you are solving for the customer. The more you understand the problem the easier it is to do what you talked about in this article. Example if the problem is to have a good looking lawn that was the right height then a mower is only one approach to solving that problem and thus the product manager would keep his mind open as you mentioned. This was a good reminder to keep the focus in the right place and the potential consequences if you don’t. I enjoyed your perspective.
