You’re right Wouter Kersten

The title IS an exaggeration.

I like to sail, and it provides a metaphor. We can’t control the winds or currents, so we sense, anticipate, adapt, and learn. Planning is still helpful, at least as a point of departure.

In this case, it is only commitment to the plan that is obsolete. I like your emphasis on dynamics. Without it, the pressure to prove the plan “right" may overwhelm the need to be successful in the mission.
