Thanks for such a great article ! I can’t tell you how many people I know that are miserable with their existence, always talking about wanting to change careers, do something different and meaningful but never taking action. They spend endless energy complaining, criticizing, judging and blaming everything around them for their dissatisfaction with life. It can be difficult when your a highly paid professional or a succesful business owner to “burn the bridge” and take that leap of faith that something else exists on the other side. That something may be better but it also may not. Change is uncomfortable and our nature is to resist and seek comfort but that’s not where amazing things happen. Discomfort and pain, facing fear and letting go of old ideas and beliefs are the path to something better. Burning those bridges or having them burned for you often is the greatest gift we can be given. ( though it never seems it at the time and often takes a long time to see the gift ). I have personally lived through this and I can say that when the bridge burns the pain is excruciating and that pain is directly proportional to the degree of attachement to that job, situation, relationship or whatever it is. I know for me after the feeling of “my life is over” passed I was given the opportunity to awaken and let go of those old beliefs. Seeing the world in this new ways has exposed so many new and interesting opportunities I would have never imagined possible for me. I think it was Wayne Dyer that said “When you change the way you look at things, those things change”. This is so powerful but it starts with letting go of old ideas and beliefs about the world around you, which is incredibly hard but worth the effort.
