5 “Unsexy” Ways How Losing Fat Can Benefit You
It’s not always about looking good…

Most people think losing weight is all about attracting the opposite sex.
And I get it, I think this is an important part…but at the same time, that mentality can be damaging (especially if you’re already tied down).
So in this article, I wanted to show you how losing fat goes well beyond getting laid, starting with:
1. Respect
So this is far from politically correct, but at the same time, it’s the truth:
Most people think all obese people are lazy.
Don’t believe me?
Well, as someone who had the luxury of fighting obesity for the first 24 years of my life, I can confirm this is true…
But if you want studies, here you go.
And as weird as it sounds, I understand the logic.
All the skinny people who are blessed with amazing genetics don’t understand why it’s so hard, I mean, all you need to do is eat less and workout more…right?
Wrong tough guy, it goes a lot deeper than that.
I could sound smart and tell you about genetics, ghrelin, difference between glycogen and fat burning mode….
But there’s a different time and article for all that, so here’s where I’m going with this.
If you’re obese, then people think you’re lazy, and that’s the first reason why you should care about your health.
I know it’s not fair and I don’t like it either, but hey — that’s life.
How more respect could help you: Many ways. Easier communication, better job, easier negotiation, etc.
2. Your Energy Skyrockets
Okay so let’s back up a few years and go back to the time where I was just getting ready to lose weight.
I was a pretty obese dude, and that sucked in many ways, but the worst part was that I never had energy.
I was constantly tired and outside of going to work or watching tv, I really didn’t have energy to do anything else.
But then I began to shed some pounds, and within a few weeks, I really started to notice a large increase in my energy.
I wasn’t quite energy bunny status yet, or anything of that nature, but before I knew it… I was able to run plenty of errands after work and even got my first gym membership.
Now I know running errands doesn’t sound too exciting, but just having the energy to do so felt amazing.
And on top of that, this eventually parlayed into other amazing things, like joining a softball league and then a golf league, both of which created friends and business contacts for life.
What this can do for you: The opportunities are endless. As I mentioned, I’ve gained friends from this and even business contacts, so energy can really take you wherever your want to go.
3. You’re Happier
Don’t get me wrong, I love every single benefit that I’m going to talk about, but out of all 5 — this one was probably my favorite.
I love it because well, who doesn’t love happiness? And also because it’s something that everybody can benefit from.
The crazy part about this one is that I don’t think it comes as a direct benefit from losing weight, but I think it’s a culmination of byproducts from every other benefit.
What do I mean?
Well, for one, you have more energy — and that opens a lot of doors.
I was able to get out more, meet more people, do more things…really just enjoy life. That alone can increase your happiness.
But then on top of that, I was really enjoying the new level of “respect”, and in those days — a lot of that came in the form of compliments.
Whether that was from friends that I didn’t see on a regular basis or from family that I only saw on the holidays, when you’re obese and lose weight, the compliments are sure to come in.
Then in addition to this you have more self-esteem, and once you get that confidence, life becomes easier in general.
What this can do for you: Improve your life 10x. Okay, maybe I don’t know how to put a multiplier on this, but you get the hint.
4. You Have More Brain Power (And a Lower Chance Of Alzheimer’s)
This one was crazy to me, and as you’re reading the headline, I’m sure it appears crazy to you too.
But as crazy as it sounds, it’s 100% true.
When I started to lose weight, I not only noticed an immediate increase in my overall energy, but I noticed a huge increase in my mental clarity as well.
I was able to focus more at work, became a lot more productive, and it even seemed like my memory noticed some improvements.
At first I chalked this up to endorphins, and I’m sure they had something to do with it, but at the same time — I had less gunk on my body and I’m sure that didn’t hurt either.
I figured this euphoria would disappear after my weight loss plateaued, but as I reached that point and sat there for a few months, I realized this wasn’t the case.
That continued to surprise me so I looked into it more, and I learned that there’s actually some science to back this up.
Now this was nice to see and I was glad that my weight loss had expanded into other areas, but the more I continued to research, the more benefits I continued to find…
Including a study that showed how losing weight could prevent alzheimer’s as well.
Yeah, I thought this was a bit aggressive at first, and it took me a few years to truly discover the reason why…
But in short, many doctors are now starting to consider Alzheimer’s as “Type 3 diabetes”.
They consider it type 3 diabetes because alzheimer’s is really the inability for your brain to get energy, and since we’re used to living off glucose…then well, that’s really just saying we have a tough time getting glucose to the brain.
So what does being obese have to do with that?
Obesity messes with insulin, and insulin messes with glucose…a cycle that causes damage over time, and eventually makes it hard for our brains to use glucose.
Then on top of that, fat cells also release a substance known as interleukin 1, which causes severe inflammation, and that’s something that “gunks up” the brain…
Resulting in a lose-lose situation for our brain power, and vulnerability to neurological diseases.

How this can help you: Well I don’t know about you, but to me, the brain is the most important part of my body. And when I keep that healthy, the options are endless.
5. It Gives Momentum For the Rest Of Your Health
The last benefit I wanted to talk about is another byproduct of the other benefits, but as I’ve noticed in my journey…
Losing weight gives you the momentum to be better in other areas of life.
What do I mean by other areas?
Well, when I was obese I didn’t really care about my body, in any regards.
I think there’s a lot of psychology with that but to give you an example of other areas, I loved my booze (but who doesn’t?) and I also loved consuming a ridiculous amount of nicotine (via smoking and chew).
These were all things that I tried to quick over the years but deep down I really didn’t care, and my “quitting” would never last longer than 12 hours.
But then after I started to lose weight and it seemed like quitting these addictions became effortless, almost overnight.
Within a short amount of time I was able to quit both smoking and chewing…and even though I still like my booze, I don’t need it as much.
This is another thing that I think is mostly psychological (higher self-esteem), but either way, it works.
How this could help you: Momentum is a very powerful thing, so I think this could help in really just about any area of life, especially the ones that you really struggle with.
That’s all folks…
Most people think diet and exercise is about getting laid, and I get it, I’m not disputing the fact…
But at the same time, this mentality creates tunnel vision, and can create a lot of other problems for you down the road.
Think about all the impacts that health has on your life, and it seems to get much easier.
