The Main Reason Why Most Diets Fail
A Simple Understanding Of Biology Can Go A Long Way…

I used to cringe whenever I heard the word “diet”.
Not because I didn’t want to lose weight and live a healthy lifestyle, but because every time I tried — I became an absolute wreck…
I was always hungry, I hated the food I was eating — and oddly enough…I felt like crap.
Now some people would say this is because I was eating differently and “detoxing”…which to an extent, I would agree…
But after years of research and finally creating a diet that’s allowed me to drop 50 lbs of fat (while keeping it off for over 3 years), I have a different theory…
One that I’ll tell you here in a second.
But first, I wanted to go over why most diets fail…
Because if you’re anything like me, you’re a little skeptical of them — and for good reason.
I mean, it doesn’t matter where we look or what we do — everybody’s got the next big diet that’ll change millions of lives…
And it seems like 100% of those diets don’t work.
There’s plenty of examples to choose from, but the one that I always like to relate to is Subway.
I remember growing up thinking that Subway was the key to success and that if I ate nothing but subs all day — I’d shed all my weight…
So that’s what I did for a month…and guess what happened? I gained 10 lbs!
At first I was depressed and thought it was just a “me problem”, but then after a few weeks of smashing donuts and chugging Mountain Dews — I decided to look into it again…
And after a few more weeks of searching around, I realized that my diet wasn’t the issue — it was my workout routine!
I realized this when I came across a new concept known as HIIT (high intensity interval training), and it all made sense to me then…
The Subway was good because it gave me fuel to do my HIIT workouts, and HIIT workouts were good because they helped me burn more calories than I consumed…
So I started doing HIIT…and to be honest, I did start losing weight right away — and after doing this for 4 weeks I saw a noticeable difference…
But there was one problem, when I stopped doing this program for 4 weeks — I started to gain back all the weight that I had lost.
Now that was depressing.
I guess I didn’t mind doing HIIT every once in awhile, but if weight loss meant doing this for 6 days a week all the time….
Then well, I might as well go back to the 12 ounce curls — so that’s what I did…
And A LOT of things have happened in between now and then:

Glycogen Burning Mode Vs. Fat Burning Mode
Now I don’t think I can attribute this process to just one thing…
But out of everything I’ve learned, the most important concept was understanding the difference between glycogen burning mode and fat burning mode.
I’ll explain more on these 2 modes in a second, but after years of research — I’ve also realized that the biggest reason most of us fail to lose weight isn’t because of will power or anything like that…
It’s because we’re forced to follow programs that try to burn fat while we’re in glycogen burning mode!
And don’t worry if that sounds confusing now, it took me years to discover this concept and unfortunately — I didn’t learn it from any health or diet “professionals”…
But here’s the good news, once you know exactly what it means and understand how to switch your body into fat burning mode, a natural mode that allows you to effortlessly shed fat, then well — it’s all downhill from there.
And don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that we can’t burn any fat while in glycogen burning mode…because my example of HIIT training shows differently…
I’m just saying that when our body is in glycogen burning mode and uses that for the main source of fuel, then well — we’re kinda just spinning our wheels.
And that’s also why diet and exercise just makes you even more hungry, even though it DOES increase your metabolism…
It just increases the default metabolism — glycogen burning.
Or in other words, you’re training your body to burn carbs faster…
And that’s fine if you don’t have any body fat to lose, but if fat loss is your main goal — then that approach focuses on the wrong form of metabolism.
And THAT is where 99.9999% of diets fail.
I’m serious, it really is boiled down to this main concept.
Sure, I could get real geeky on you and start saying a bunch of scientific terms to make myself sound smart — but I have a feeling you didn’t come here for that, so I’m just going to go ahead and remove the technobabble for you.
The Transformation You’re Looking For
Anyway, so now that we’ve mentioned this concept…it should come as no surprise that even though the old formula of weight loss = more calories burned than consumed…WILL help you lose weight, it won’t give you the transformation you’re looking for.
What I mean by that, is that you might lose weight and you might shed some fat along the way…
But you’re not going to have the body you’ve always wanted when you’re done, and you’re going to starve yourself (or workout daily) to get there.
And by not having the body you’ve always wanted when you’re done, I’m talking about…
And I really don’t intend to be mean when I say this, I just don’t know how else to explain it — but I’m talking about having the “weirdly skinny” body…
You know, the one that happens after somebody loses a lot of weight?
The type where they turned into a twig and even though they’re happy they lost the weight, now they’re focused on gaining muscle because they lost a lot of it in the process…
And that happens because your body doesn’t go for fat after the primary fuel is gone…
Instead, it goes for muscle.
Why muscle?
Because your body can turn protein (muscle) into glucose through a process called gluconeogenesis…
(Okay, sorry — I had to include some technobabble…)
And I could go on about this for days, but here’s the important part:
The conventional wisdom with weight loss focuses on burning fat while in glycogen burning mode…
And that’s harmful for 2 reasons:
The first, because you’re starving yourself of energy and bound to snap.
I mean, I don’t know about you, but I don’t like the feeling of being hungry …
And if that’s the feeling I have to live with just to lose weight, then well — I’m probably not going to survive.
The second, because that approach tries to burn fat while in glycogen burning mode…taking out all energy and (some) muscle along the way…
Starting to see the problem here?
And if it doesn’t make complete sense, don’t worry — it’s not you…it’s the terrible information we’ve been taught for years.
Once I understood this concept I’ve always been bamboozled after reading the traditional “low calorie” diets…and that’s why I’m here today.
Anyway, I could go on about this for days — but instead of writing a scholarly journal that packs all this information into one day, I’ve decided to make a (Free) 5-Day Email Video Course out of it…
