I have a great product, now what?

Once you complete the first phase of your plan, you need to know what to do next

One of the most common interview questions for a product manager is: “how can we improve XYZ product?”. To answer this question, you need to go back to one of the three fundamental goals: User growth, engagement, and revenue. Ask the interviewer about the current trends related to the product. Are they getting a lot of hits from a mobile device? Maybe it’ll be a good idea to create a native app.

If you’re working on your own project and want to know what to do next, perform a customer interview. Offer them some monetary reward for their time such as a gift card or coupon for your product. You can then gather information that you otherwise wouldn’t have thought of.

Another tactic is to search the forums to see what others are saying about your product. What are their main complaints? People will complain about a lot of things, but when a lot of people are complaining about the same things, you probably have something to work on.

Finally, if your product is new and you don’t have a lot of customers, you can look at what your competitors are doing. Look at what their main features are and create a similar feature for your product. Don’t get into the habit of copying others, but if you have 4 competitors and know what 4 advantageous features all of them have, you can create a product with those 4 features yourself. This can help you stand out amongst the competition.

With these steps, you will be able to create a product that is useful and add value to society. Your customers will love you and your product will succeed!

Looking forward to the future, the possibilities are endless.
