Dear god, where to start…

“Establishment of a religion” came as a direct result of the initial settlers and their “issues” with the Church of England. The Founding Fathers did not want that kind of state-sponsored religion in their vision of America, so they set it such that the government cannot put one religion above another. Christians have no more rights under the Constitution than Satanists. That, dear soul, is all the “freedom of religion” intends. Yes, it means the government cannot shut down your particular brand of faith (including, you know, tearing down your houses of worship, whatever they might be) simply because the government doesnt like it.

As for your rather bizarre comparison to a Jewish baker asked to make a gas chamber as a birthday cake for Hitler (Oh, yeah, I can totally see the similarity between that and a wedding cake for a couple of guys), sorry, but yes, under the law, he cant simply say, “Nope, this offends my religion.” That cake may be in terrible taste, but it is not illegal… and one could even make the case that denying it is denying this group its right to freedom of speech and freedom of association. We may not like what they do or what they stand for, but they are not criminals and their actions, as distasteful as we may find them, are not illegal. And if someone opens a business, he or she is required by law to serve everyone, not just the ones he or she agrees with politically or philosophically.

That baker’s rights were not compromised, but his presumed clients’ were. He’s still free to believe any bullhockey he wants about his Special Sky Friend. But when he opens that door, he has to set those aside. And I find it fascinating that you put his “faith” ahead of theirs. You’re doing exactly what the Founding Fathers hoped to prevent.

Here, read this, then let me now what eminent danger this couple posed to him

or this

or even this

And you might want to remember that he won on a technicality involving the Colorado Civil Rights Commission, not because the Supreme Court was supporting his “religious freedom”.
