Dont blame Obama, dude. Go look at the history of that bill and see how many “industry-friendly” amendments the GOP rammed into it before walking away in lockstep just so they could watch it fail. Obama naively thought they’d work with him to repair the damage after it was passed, but that moronic Congress was more interested in using healthcare as a political plank than actually providing anything that would work. They kept saying they had a better plan — and when it finally came time to reveal this masterwork of six years’ construction, it was… (fanfare, please)… vouchers. That was it. Freaking vouchers. Thanks, Paul Ryan.

But the blame where it belongs if you want any kind of credibility. The very fact that the Americans have any kind of healthcare is amazing, even with the GOP trying to obstruct it.

As for up here, no, it’s not a perfect system. Yes, there are waits. I daresay even in Chile, healthcare isnt immediately doled out for serious issues. Are they better equipped and better trained? We’ll have to take your word on that, sorry. And I dont know that I can. But what I can tell you is that with forty years of Canadian healthcare, I have zero complaints about our system. YRMV.
