Okay, this is where I stopped reading, because you’re clearly to trying to create something out of whole cloth. Descriptive stories are “out of favor”? We dont have flawed characters anymore? — let alone ones trying to persevere? I’m sorry, but when was the last time you went to the movies or watched TV or even read a novel written in the last thirty years?
And anyone who champions (as you apparently do) Disney’s rape of Eastern and Northern European mythos to make it more “child appropriate” has a *lot* of catching up to do…
