This is how Google will collapse
Daniel Colin James

Well, that does leave the nagging little problem of how a search engine is supposed to make money. Alexa, for all her wonders, cant complete when Im using Google to look up information: it’s faster to read through choices than listen to some AI voice rattle the options.

0.06% might appear dismal, but when you look at the actual traffic numbers, I’m not sure what anyone really expected. Bulk snail mail operates at about a 1–2% return rate on a much smaller market with much higher front end costs. By comparison, an ad that’s a recycled TV spot would seem to be gravy money.
