Why Traveling Alone Is A Good Idea?
There are moments when you cannot resist the urge of visiting the place of your dreams. Now probably you want to take a friend with you and go on an adventure! Sounds fun, right?
Unfortunately, it turns out your friend won’t come with you just because they don’t want to. Then this idea comes to your head — what about travelling alone?
You might be scared of it at first, and that’s understandable. But what if I told you travelling all by yourself means you go wherever you want and whenever you want? That’s obvious.
Travelling solo is an excellent idea for a wide variety of reasons. Not only will it build your confidence, but you’ll also have the freedom to do just what you want.
In my opinion, you should try it at least once, and here’s why.
You Can Travel At Your Own Pace
So you were supposed to stay in Bali only for a week, but it turns out you’ve met amazing people there, and you’d love to book a few more weeks on your AirBnB. Is that a problem? Absolutely no.
You see, a friend could stand in your way and tell you that you guys should go back — and I hope you would go with him in this situation! But if you’re all by yourself and you’re excited to stay for a few more weeks, then why not?
You’ll See More Possibilities.
Now that you’ve been to the place of your dreams, where else did you always want to go?
Doors were always open for you, and after your first trip alone, you shouldn’t be scared to go even to the first place that comes to your mind.
It Makes You More Confident
In a certain sense, you’ll learn to “survive”. What I mean by is not that you’ll starve to death if you don’t hunt some food, but you can definitely get lost somewhere — and then you’ll have to ask someone for help — travelling alone will teach you how to solve problems and make it out of different kinds of situations. When you come back home, you’ll feel way more independent, and you’ll be more comfortable with yourself. New experiences won’t be that scary to you anymore.
Your Adventure Will Be More Sensational
Imagine tomorrow you’ll wake up in an empty hostel a few thousand kilometres away from home where the only person who knows your face is that receptionist who gave you the keys. It’s adventure time!
You Can Learn More About Yourself
Trust me when I say you’re going to be a different person when travelling alone. You will eventually find out who you are, what you want, and what you care about. A journey is the core of each glorious history, and you will surely make great friendships and have lots of fun.
Spend Your Money On What You Want
Sleep for five bucks at the cheapest hostel or go for a 5-star hotel and eat dinner on the rooftop of a skyscraper. It doesn’t matter after all if you’re travelling alone. Just be wise with your money and make sure that you’ll always be covered up with your savings if things go wrong.
Conclusion
I think you shouldn’t miss out on an incredible adventure. If you want to go somewhere, then go. Don’t abort your dreams just like that because you can’t find someone who could go with you. After all, these are your dreams, and as we only live once, you should go and live life the way you want to.
Remember, it’s not just a trip. It’s also for the purpose of a therapy and self-discovery.
