I agree with your opinion that a dogmatic view -often connected with beginners using it- leads to a lot of new dysfunctions and can be far away from really becoming agile. I described an evolution towards Scrumban combining elements from Kanban and ScrumBan http://www.ontheagilepath.net/2015/03/scrum-and-scrumban-as-its-next.html (and the naming Scrumban doesn’t matter… It’s just eye catching). I think using Scrum in the beginning can help adopting agile practices but having agility in mind always should challenge every part of it. I like the pictures ;-)
