Day 1: LET’S MAKE HISTORY

Catch an early flight and start your day around 11 a.m. to see all the historic sights. You’ll need to fuel up before you experience the fun, and the perfect brunch spot to start your day is Chez Elle Creperie and Coffeehouse in the historic Summit Theatre building.

Spend your first day in Kansas City basking in the history. It’s the hometown of Harry S. Truman, America’s 33rd president — you can visit his house and Presidential Museum.

Truman served as a presiding judge for almost 10 years and is heavily credited for making Kansas City the bustling metropolis it is today due to his oversight in paving thousands of connected roads across Missouri in the 1920’s and 30’s.

If you’re not too tired after all that learning, walk up to the viewing area at the World War II Museum, across the street from the Federal Reserve for a great view of the city before checking into your hotel.

DAY 2: CUT LOOSE A LITTLE

Your second day in Kansas City is all about fun. Kansas City is home to a handful of casinos that offer much more than gambling. Brewery tours, jazz clubs, and world class cuisine will have you begging for more (or maybe for the bed) after your second day in the City. Start it off right, with breakfast at WestPort Cafe and Bar. The ambiance is amazing, and the food is fantastic farm to table fare.

THE ARGOSY CASINOSpend a little time at the gaming tables, then relax with a massage at the Argosy Spa. 45 minute upper body massage $50.

THE NELSON-ATKINS MUSEUM OF ART:

Take a relaxation break back at your hotel. Try a Bloody Mary at the hotel bar, take a turn in the hot tub, or catch a few Zzz’s. When you’re feeling refreshed, dress to the nines for dinner at fancy Gram and Dun, then a little dancing on the town at The Green Lady Lounge.

Country Club Plaza

DAY 3: COUNTRY CLUB PLAZA

Spend your final morning taking in the beautiful sights at Country Club Plaza. The plaza boasts restaurants, shops, movies, art, an International Riverwalk, and live entertainment. Grab brunch at the Classic Cup Cafe and peruse the shops. See a matinee at Cinemark Plaza, scout out all the sidewalk art, sculptures, and fountains, go for a gondola ride in the river. The possibilities are endless and the views are breathtaking at Country Club Plaza.
