Built by the German architect and painter Erwin Broner in the 60s, this spectacular building opens its doors as a public museum of international reference.

Casa Broner is located in Sa Penya neighbourhood, right over the cliff. From its big windows, you can enjoy the brightness and fresh breeze of the sea and the stunning views of Formentera. The house has two floors with a studio, terrace, and garden. Erwin also designed the furniture, which is exhibited in the house — together with the paintings, drawings, and personal items — and we can appreciate it thanks to Gisela, Erwin’s wife, who donated the house to the City Hall a few years before she passed away.

Casa Broner was declared a good of cultural interest (BIC) because it combines to perfection the architectural tradition of Ibiza with the most significant German design style of the twentieth century: the Bauhaus. Its straight, pure lines and solid shapes mix with the white walls and the Sabina ceiling beams, creating an avant-garde atmosphere, which was completely innovative in those times.
