Popular Chinatown Restaurant Howlin’ Ray’s Is Opening A Second Location In Pasadena

Summer just got that much warmer…

If you’ve ever stood in an hours-long line at what’s arguably the most popular restaurant in Chinatown to get your Nashville hot chicken fix, news of Howlin’ Ray’s opening a second location probably had you jumping with joy. This is the first expansion for the infamous eatery where Angelenos take it upon themselves to put their tastebuds to the test! Unfortunately, you’ll have to wait until 2020 to take a bite out of the highly sought after fried chicken specialty.

The second-ever Howlin’ Ray’s will be located along South Arroyo Parkway, just a block away from the future Shake Shack expansion. Owner’s Amanda and Johnny Ray Zone are excited to welcome customers into a much bigger space and plan to offer large parties, special events, and catering thanks to all the extra square footage. The original brick-and-mortar opened back in 2016 and is much more intimate, only offering seating outside of the shop.

Howlin’ Ray’s has come a long way since its food truck days. What started off as a career leap for Zone, has now become a massive spicy chicken sensation attracting fans from all over the world who wait literal hours to get a taste of that infamous ghost pepper seasoning. There have been many attempts to recreate the restaurant’s success, but no one has them howlin’ like Ray.

Location: 800 S Arroyo PkwyPasadena, CA 91105. See it on Google maps.
