Complete consultation with Lanka Electricity Company Limited to establish JVC in Sri Lanka
At the beginning of April 2018, the SEED Group has completed consultation on establishment of Joint Venture from Lanka Electricity Company(Private) Limited in Sri Lanka.
The LECO Group is partially owned by the government, is responsible for 50% of the electricity in Sri Lanka.
LECO and SEED Group is to establish a JVC in Sri Lanka to provide Rooftop Solar Energy Power Systems for domestic requirements of households, religious places, hotels, commercial establishments and industries as a solution to address heavy electricity demand and to create an Eco-friendly environment in collaboration with CEB, LECO and also to join hands with the Ministry of Power and Renewable Energy as an active participant of the government’s priority program titled “Battle for Solar Energy” (Surya Bala Sangramaya).
Due to the amendment of the Sri Lanka legislation, all houses currently under construction are required to have their own solar panels.
The SEED Group will be partnering with LECO in Sri Lanka to develop and establish solar power plants, Rooftop Solar Energy Power System, and ESCO projects using LEDs. At the request of LECO, we are ready to contract a formal MOA in June, 2018.
