Thank you for this: the article and the responses. I don’t have kids now, and I’m not in any way close to having any, but when I do, I’ll save this for them to read. I’ve always battled with explaining personal responsibility without going down the road of victim blaming, so this has really helped. Most of all, I’m glad you’ve risen above this life adversity.
