Hey Sippers, this is Sakeinu here.

I usually like to write stuff on my X, intoxicated but I am dead sober when I am writing something serious on Medium. Coz you know, we are quite serious about our project. Let me write down my story.

The project “Sakeinu” aims to be the first ERC404-based meme project to be launched in celebration for EVM compatible Sei V2.

What is the meme “Sakeinu” and why?

Sakeinu is the combination of Japanese words: “sake” and “inu.”

Whiff of Japan in naming?

First, the Japanese vibe is inspired by Sei, which has not made any official statement about the linkage to Japan but the atmosphere oozing out of its official website and the red ball symbol is allusive to the vibe. (Besides, the name “sei” sounds like Japanese itself, what do you sei?)

Second, anime-centric culture with the concept of classic Japanese anime series “Dragon Ball” resonates deeply within the Sei community. The early communities of Seiyans and Seiyan By Cult are great examples and we want to carry on the building of great anime legacy on Sei.

Last but not least, the word “Sakeinu” conveys the message we want to pour in you.

Sake is Japanese traditional liquor. Since it’s liquor, it symbolizes the intoxicating medium that we resort to not only when we want to add spice to the festivities but also when we want to forget about shitty things going on in life. Sake can get the sippers loose.

Inu means “dog” in Japanese. I am sure you already heard about the infamous “Shibainu” and we want to tap into a wider audience, inheriting the success of dog tokens in ETH ($SHIB) and SOL ($BONK, $WIF, etc.) . By strategically inheriting a proven formula, we hope the existing community members and the new joiners of Sei V2 will instantly feel immediate connection.

So what does that combination leave you? Sakeinu, the intoxicated dog.

It symbolizes all of us, who wanna be drunk so bad and get out of this mundane world. For all of you sippers, we want to pour festivity and liquidity into Sei community with sake for everybody’s sake. So we are about to pour some “sake in u.” (Do you get the pun?)

And what character do it the best if not the dawg.

What is 404 and why?

It doesn’t mean this

ERC-404 protocol basically supports the combination of both ERC-20(Fungible Token) and ERC-721(Non-Fungible Token a.k.a NFT), meaning it can be both treated as token AND NFT.

As we have observed that Sei currently has a vibrant NFT community, our belief is that there will be sufficient hype around the Sei V2 launch both within the Sei community and NFT/404 Lovers and we want to bring everyone together to create more hype around it. 404 is basically a mechanism to make NFTs not only more fun to trade but rewarding in the process.

To make it more fun to play with and trade, we will evolve the ERC-404 to a new and unique dimension with our own protocol “SI-404” soon. We will elaborate on the basic mechanism of 404 and how SI-404 is unique in a separate article, so stay tuned!

In the end, itʼs all about the vibe. This inu is always holding a bottle of sake, ready to symbolize the festive celebration with a cheerful toast so that every community member involved will get drunk into its charm of the meme and the hype around the launch of Sei V2, which we believe is a promising solution for the scalability of the EVM.
