This is the description of ‘The Memes by 6529’, a popular collection on the Ethereum blockchain. We have always been big fans of Punk6529 and the messages he and his team are brining out to the world, a spirit that deserves the widest distribution across society!
Idea
We recently listened to an interview of 6529 with Raoul Pal, in which he said he’d ‘love for others to bring The Memes to different blockchains’. This immediately made us think about how we could help in doing that and Solana was the first choice. We’ve been very impressed with the wider Solana eco-system over the last 12 months: in the hardest times (FTX) they showed incredible resilience and community-spirit, stuck together and overcome not only the problems arising, but also the views of being ‘Sam coin’.
Their recent push to bring out the Saga phone, a smartphone built for Web3 without the App store limitations of the institutions Apple and Google, showed not only their bravery but also their commitment to decentralization, open-source development and permissionless protocols.
Therefore we found it only fitting to bring those two worlds together to ‘Seize The Memes on Solana’ and start with piece #1 ‘Seize The Memes on your Saga’:

Who is Punk6529?
Punk6529 is probably THE voice for an open metaverse in which users control their digital life, assets and data. His threads on the industry are some of the best out there and he manages it to explain the (often very technical) possibilites of decentralized protocols to the everyday person.
We’ve been very grateful to learn from him in the last years and can only recommend everyone to take a relaxed day on a weekend, maybe with a cup of tea or glass of wine, and read through his multi-tweets on some of the most important topics for decades to come:

We are a team of friends across different countries with the goal to spread the message for an open metaverse. In full 6529-spirit we want to make everything we do hyper-accesible and promote self-sovereignity. We start with ‘Seize The Memes on your Saga’ as the genesis card and will bring out more editions along the way.
Funds will primarily be used to pay creators, artists and developers for further ideas to Seize The Memes. The long-term goal is to create a self-sustainable studio of decentralization-enthusiasts pushing the boundaries and spreading the message for an open metaverse.
