WWW Resources Response

One thing I learned from this article is understanding the author. I think a lot of times we as readers focus so much on the content of the text, rather than who created it. Understanding the author is so important because it creates an understanding of who is putting in the effort to create something for our (the reader’s) enjoyment.

Another thing I learned in this article is the importance of current Web information. This is a majorly important thing especially when looking at information for a research paper. If you are collecting articles it’s important to know the year of publication.

It would be very difficult to come up with content from a piece written years back. With information that has not been updated, it would mess up the whole process of your research. Up to date information is so important when writing, in general.

The last thing I learned from reading this article is to be aware of the kind of information that is on the site, and if this information is credible. This may be a silly example, but if you go on a website and the layout looks like something from the early 2000s, you may want to reconsider this source.

I hate to use the term ‘sketchy’ but it’s true that when on a www site sometimes you may come across sites that are a little odd. It’s important to be aware of all that you are looking at.

Now if you were to go on a site that looks more up to date and has a decent amount of traffic, then changes are this is a credible source. Of course research, and even checking out reviews and traffic is a great means for seeing if what is being looked at is a credible source.
