Release stress and enjoy!
Mindfulness helps to release stress in many ways (too many to cover in one article), but even small changes towards mindfulness can make a huge difference in reducing stress and enhancing your enjoyment of life.
The two main building blocks of mindfulness are to be aware and to be present in this moment. When you practice awareness and living in the moment you will notice that stressful thoughts disappear and are replaced with thoughts & feelings relevant to what is actually happening to you now.
Ask yourself “Do I have anything to be stressed about right now, in this moment?” Most of the time the answer will be “no”, then you are free to enjoy that moment and so it goes on, moment by moment, day by day.
Being mindful of what is happening now means we no longer waste our time stressing about the future, what might be and worrying about things that may not ever happen! If and when stressful moments come up, we are more than capable to deal with them as we need to, in that moment. Living this way allows you to ‘smell the roses’, notice the simple things in life and enjoy them!
