Vital Step to Connect Marketplaces: Mapping. How to Skip It?

If you ever tried to integrate your web store with another platform using multichannel listing software then you have surely heard about the process of mapping.

Let’s find out how to take this complicated step under control!

What is Mapping?

⚙️Mapping is a well-known process in computing and data management. It is quite complex but crucial.

Without mapping it would be impossible for the end system to understand data and, as a result, it would be unable to import and synchronize product listings.

Attributes with the same meaning can have different titles in various platforms.

This is why before uploading your products into the target system you need to create mapping rules. This step associates qualities with their equivalents.

But there is another problem: it presents a challenge for users to do it manually. It requires spending your time and efforts. Mapping is greatly simplified inside the Sellbery App. All you need to do is match fields. 🙌But we want more!

And so we thought, what about automated mapping?

Just imagine! You can push a button and here it is! The job is done!

💡Implementing mapping templates (beta) is our first step on the way to auto mapping.

All it takes is one mouse click on a ready-made template and the process starts by itself.

How to handle Auto Mapping?

So, we connected two platforms (let’s say Magento and Amazon) and linked them with each other.

According to our video in Help center, the next step for you will be creating a global rule.

👇Step #1: Click ‘Add New Global Rule’.

Global rule is a set of common rules. It often can be customized depending on the selected category.

Mapping rules are the set of rules, according to which the Sellbery app transforms the source product data into the required structure of the target product in the end system.

👉Step #2: Choose your Source, Category, and Subcategory.

👉Step #3: Click ‘Auto Mapping’.

Attribute rules are created automatically.

Each system has a different list of requirements provided in its documentation. Mapping depends on the category and type of uploaded product, so there may be exceptions or sensitive attributes that directly affect possible outcomes.

In case you want to take a look at the table of created rules — just click the button ‘Check the rules’ and you will see the list automatically created by Sellbery.

Now we are ready to push your products from Magento to Amazon.

Let’s see how it was in the previous version

As we know, values in Shopify can differ from the values in Amazon, that’s why we are starting to create mapping rules manually, after adding a new global rule.

Connect all the required fields.

🔌Match those ones that are the same and add custom values manually.

Save it.

That’s it! Now you can push your products to the target platform!
