(i) think/feel

  1. trains of thought except after departing from the station they split into 50 trains and try to race each other
  2. a computer with a frayed wire so that the display gets all messed up
  3. clouds of emotion with ambiguous shapes that don’t detract from the fact that they still exist
  4. a murky lake of inner thoughts that lacks a transparent surface and requires one to reach into the lake in order to find out what’s in it
  5. spherical forcefield walls that break down and get repaired repeatedly
  6. a black box with the words “find me” on it except the words are also in the same shade of black
  7. a dormant volcano that just builds up more and more until it finally erupts
  8. one of those small waves in the ocean that you could easily avoid but you just let it wash over you to block out the noise
  9. lying down on your bed in a dark room but you’re not actually sleeping because you’re too awake
  10. a wall with colorful murals freshly painted with about 5 layers of white paint
  11. a miniature book inside of a box inside of a box inside of a box inside of a box inside of a box inside of a box inside of a box inside of a box inside of a box inside of a box inside of a box inside of a box inside of a box inside of a box inside of a box inside of a box inside of a box inside of a box inside of a box inside of a box
  12. over-steeped tea — bitter, but it still smells good
  13. standing in the rain with no umbrella solely for the purpose of enjoying the cool, wet raindrops that fall on your face
  14. a condescending twin that says mean things and slaps you until you believe the garbage coming out of their throat
  15. a dusty bookshelf with a frustrating mix of good and bad books. you can pick one up, dust it off, open it, and either immediately close it or sit down wherever you’re at and start reading (it’s frustrating because the bad books make you not want to come back to the bookshelf, but finding a good book is too tempting to ignore)
  16. a spiky sea urchin with vulnerably soft innards
  17. those really bad erasers that do a crap job at erasing, and they just smear all the pencil marks everywhere on the page
  18. uncomfortably small shoes that you want to kick off. but, they’re too small for you to just kick off, so you just leave them on until it hurts too much
  19. the random bruises you get on your knees that you don’t remember ever getting until you actually sit down to think about it
  20. reaching your hand out to get someone’s attention but quickly retracting it after realizing that they’re doing everything else except listening
  21. vomit — uncontrollable and a little gross
  22. jumping off a cliff and then regretting it, but what’s done is done
  23. hitting the snooze button but never waking up
  24. carrying a really heavy backpack and then dropping it and spilling its contents everywhere
