Review of the novel by David Perlmutter

Subtitle — “Wham, Bam, Thank You Ma’am! A Superhero Novella”
As that subtitle implies, this is a tongue-in cheek romp, echoing themes and situations common in comic books and the series and movies based on them. But the good guys are Canadian pre-teen girls.

Some characteristic passages:
“He’s not the adventurous type so, when I offered him the chance to sidekick, he said he’d rather be my PR man, and so I let him do my PR.” p. 12
“The Merch ship was much larger than I could have imagined. it almost seemed as if the Empire from Sar Wars had just had a military surplus sale, and the Merch had scooped up a lot of their extra gar on the cheap.” p.74
“They find the stupidest and most gullible people in a group and get them to believe anything is possible by playing to their desired dreams and not the actualities in their lives.” p. 78
