Review of memoir by Gabi Coatsworth

Reading this “memoir” was a strange and illuminating experience, like the third wall coming down — the barrier that traditionally separates reader from author.

I have known the author for more than three years, but never really knew her. For seven years, Gabi Coatsworth has been religiously managing (for free) two monthly events Writers’ Rendezvous and WritersMic. I have greatly benefitted from the advice, encouragement, and camaraderie I have found in those groups. I knew and respected her in that limited, but important role. Now, through this book, she has shared moments of love and far longer stretches of anxiety and grief. I feel richer for the experience.
