How many times have you needed a hug from someone who is far away ? How many times has someone sent you a message that ends with “hugs”?

I imagine a cuddly stuffed toy. I would call it a Huggle. It is available in a variety os shapes and sizes, and comes with an Internet connection and the ability to move on command.

You give it to someone you care about. When you sense that person needs a hug, and Huggle confirms the phone of the target is turned on and near, you (and only you) can trigger a remote hug.

Alerted through a cellphone app that a hug is being sent, the recipient clicks to accept it and uses his/her phone to signal where to deliver said hug or postpones delivery to more appropriate time and place.

Only you (the gift giver) can activate Huggle with the app. And you can customize Huggle’s motions to match the mood of sender and recipient.

Please let me know if such a device/service exists or if you intend to make it.
