I’m not interested in debating you on the subject of Pepe the Frog, but to protect you from future embarrassment, I recommend that you read this article which reveals that Olivia Nuzzi of the Daily Beast was the victim of a ruse. After Hillary Clinton featured the Pepe character and the Daily Beast article on her campaign’s website, The Daily Caller reached out to the anonymous poster, a 19 year old Italian American, who admitted that he and a friend concocted the scam to prove their theory that the media would report anything, no matter how ridiculous, to link Trump with racism. Another story exposing the scam was also posted on this website.

An interesting aside to this story is that prior to joining the Daily Beast, Olivia Nuzzi worked as an intern for Anthony Weiner where she made the headlines after appearing on the cover of the NY Daily News and writing a “tell-all” that revealed sordid details about Weiner and his campaign. His campaign manager retaliated with some very colorful and uncomplimentary language which also made the headlines. The publicity helped Nuzzi land her first job as a journalist.
