I’m sorry, but McCain is and has always been a fraud. His “maverick” reputation is wholly undeserved. His voting record has shown him to be a loyal follower of the GOP party line and while he may find Trump personally repugnant, he supports his policies. McCain benefits from the conflation of physical courage and moral courage, the one does not imply the other. Yes, his moment of pushing back on the bigotry at that campaign event was a decent act, but after the election? There was nothing from McCain decrying the virulent racism that the Obama’s endured for eight years. McCain fell right in with McConnell in doing nothing other than opposing every intuitive, every policy that came from the Administration. McCain put party over country, and so as he did then, he has done so today. His vote against the ACA repeal bills was only so other senators could go back to their constituencies and say the tried to repeal Obamacare. That is not moral courage, that is political hypocrisy writ large. The man is a fraud.
