Online doctor and clinic search provider HealthKumbh gets seed funding
MD Technovation Pvt Ltd, which runs an online platform HealthKumbh that helps doctors, clinics and hospitals network with peers and people, has raised Rs 50 lakh ($73,000) in seed funding from Ahmedabad-based angel investor, its founder and CEO Maulik Darji told. Healthkumbh is a place to find health information which is shared by renowned doctors around you.
The funds raised from the angel investor will be used for product development and also for tapping the local market in Ahmedabad and surrounding cities.
The healthcare startup, which was founded in 2014, also aims to raise Rs 10 crore ($1.49 million) in six to eight months. Other social networking ventures for medical professionals include PlexusMD, Curofy and DocPlexus.
While PlexusMD raised an undisclosed amount in funding from Patni family scion Arihant Patni, private equity veteran Avnish Mehra and a few other early-stage investors.
Pune-based DocPlexus, a networking platform for healthcare professionals, raised a funding of Rs 4.6 crores till date from asp. group, an Austria based international investment & advisory boutique, and Uniqorn Ventures, a startup focused fund based out of Mumbai.
Also, Curofy, a doctor networking app from Gurgaon-based 911 India Healthcare Pvt Ltd has secured an undisclosed amount in pre-Series A funding from US-based venture capital firm RoundGlass Partners.
