Studies show that ghee leads to reduced cholesterol in the serum and intestine. It helps control eye pressure and is beneficial to glaucoma patients. Ghee is most notably said to stimulate the secretion of stomach acids to help with digestion, while other fats, such as butter and oils, slow down the digestive process and can sit heavy in the stomach. It has a high amount of butyric acid, which contains anti-viral properties, is believed to inhibit the growth of cancerous tumors.

The dairy products of ruminants, provides an excellent source of fat-soluble vitamins including vitamin A. These vitamins are stored primarily in the fat portion, so the concentration of vitamins in ghee is higher than in milk. Vitamin A plays an essential role in hormone balance, liver health, fertility, and stamina.

The vitamin A in ghee is both immediately useable by the body, and also contains the fatty acid cofactors required for absorption.
