Hurricanes are one of the most destructive and powerful forces of nature that can affect humans in different ways. They can bring storm surges and tidal flooding, high-powered winds, tornadoes, flooding, and general destruction to the surroundings, especially in areas that are hit by the more powerful parts of a hurricane.

These strong forces can cost lives, destroy residential, commercial and public buildings, and even damage or destroy critical infrastructures such as energy, water, transportation channels, and communications. This damage can also carry over days or weeks or months following a hurricane, disrupting lives and businesses.

While we cannot control the number and intensity of hurricanes that we encounter, there are ways that we can reduce the likelihood of damage inflicted while they continue to rage over the area. Preventing extensive damage, especially with our homes, is a top priority. This infographic by Tauscher Cronacher will guide you through ensuring that your house is prepared to face these all too common acts of nature.
