Accomplishments of Maj Gen T Kaul
Maj Gen Tej Kaul had the distinction of being the key interface between the Army, MOD and MEA, and holding the prestigious quasi diplomatic appointment of the DDG (Foreign Division), which gave him immense opportunities to interact with officials at the highest levels, both in India & overseas. He has been a lead member of various negotiating delegations within India and countries like USA and China. Post Retirement Maj Gen T Kaul still continues to work using his skill set and accomplishments.
Maj Gen Kaul has spoken at various forums, both in India & abroad on varied topics including HR, Intelligence & Security, Disaster Management, the Kashmir Affairs imbroglio, Home Land Security, and the safe Cities concept. He was invited to address the Nigerian Parliamentary Committee on Defense concerning the PPP model in the defense production in Nigeria.
The design of the security of various prestigious projects in India has been conceived by Maj Gen TK Kaul. Including the most revered temple at Shirdi Maharashtra, which receives the highest footfall, He has been associated with evolving both Security Training and Risk & Security Analysis for a large number of corporate and bodies including the prestigious IPL & other Cricket tournaments for a number of years.
The thesis on Psychological Warfare developed by Gen T Kaul, which describes the use of propaganda, has been widely acclaimed and published in the National Defense College publication and disseminated across the Commonwealth nations (USA, Africa, Europe and Far East).
Besides this, Gen TK Kaul conceived & organized mega training and professional & cultural events at the state, national & international level, including “Know Your Army” mega exhibitions at various cities. The same has now been adopted by the Indian Army as an annual key event, scheduled to be held at various places.
While being responsible for upgrading the existing assets and infrastructure within the states of Maharashtra and Gujarat, Gen T Kaul also evolved strategies to implement a Disaster Management action plan for the whole of Maharashtra, with emphasis on Mumbai.
As Head — Foreign Division Military Intelligence, Maj Gen TK Kaul acted as a key interface between the Army, MOD, MOH and MEA. He took charge of coordinating the working of the Indian military attaches and missions deployed in India and across the world. It involved formulating, coordinating and handling visits of VVIP delegations to India & ex India. The job involved analyzing inputs related to political, economic and military affairs received from Indian military attaches and missions across the world.
Maj Gen Kaul was also a key member of the faculty responsible for imparting training to officers of the Indian and foreign armies on matters related to Intelligence & Security Management. It encompassed studies on Geo Political & Economic Environment, Security Appreciation and Risk Analysis.
